Winter Wind

 Winter Wind

A thick coat of snow brightens the night,

as gusty winds build great dunes of white.

Wind makes trees shiver like a swimmer in a river,

a swimmer in a river of cold.

Animals hole-up wrapped in their fur.

warm and safe from the brrr.

Faces of people framed in window glass

can only stare out at the wintry blast.

They think “tomorrow we’ll need to shovel for sure,

tomorrow we dig in the brrr,”
