Time Travels

Time Travels On a journey Traveling each moment From present to present The present begins The present is The present ends Then onto another Moment to moment Each is precious A lifetime of moments When I’m in each moment It will never leave me When I carry each moment in my heart It will never leave me

Life is Fragile

Life is Fragile Life is a candle flickering in the wind, the wind of Covid. The wind wafts, the candle light quivers. The blast blows, the fragile light all but goes out. But a spark remains.  A glimmer of hope flares again. The flame licks anew, fanned by hospital heroes. Life now is fragile. We all must cup our hands around the flame to staunch the treacherous winds. Both for ourselves and for others. We must get vaccinated, wear masks.  Stay safe and keep others safe. It’s up to us.

Sedentary

Sedentary The word sounds like poured cement settling in and hardening. Immobile. Back aching. Stiffening like curing concrete. Around five cracked ribs slowly healing. Not looking for sympathy. I’ll heal. It takes time. Just emoting. How’s your day going?

Lessons of the Fall

Lessons of the Fall Not the season A drop in altitude With a sudden stop at the bottom Knocked unconscious, five ribs broken A lesson in compassion for the disabled A lesson in love by those who came together in my support A lesson in awareness of the changing dangers of ageing A lesson to see pain as a sign of the places needing to heal A lesson to be easy on these places, and not over-medicate lest I re-injure what is healing A lesson in being in the moment  Hopefully no more lessons needed on the force of gravity
