A Great Lake in the Sky
A Great Lake in the Sky
Earth exhales a vaporous breath
Rising, rising high
Kisses the blue with clouds of white
Earth’s gifts to the azure Sky
Then the artful Wind takes his turn
To decorate on high
Blows clouds into fantastic shapes
An artist on the fly
But when Sky’s thirst is so great
Can only by storm be slaked
Gulps so much water to himself
In the clouds is born a great lake
When Thunder Lake grows so great
It can stay no longer airborne
It pours its life-giving liquid down
A Niagara of a storm
I like this one. A lot.
