The Second of November
The Second of November
A buck bedded-down in the leaves just inside the woods, but moved off when he saw me.
Another deer surveyed the clover field for any breaks in the snow, but resorted to feeding on leaves in the bushes. Yellow leaves flew like birds this cold fall day. This was to be a mild winter, and here we are with temperatures in the low 20’s, and five inches of snow. We haven’t had measurable snow this early since 1901.
