 Our Home Remembers…


     Our home is a small one-story with a soaring ceiling of wood, and a wall of windows     

     overlooking a meadow and a forest.


Our home says, “The woman and man who had me built were practical people - not over builders - and had an openness to the natural world, and an aesthetic sense that makes me proud almost 70 years after I was built. I am a one-bedroom, but my accordion wall closes on a sofa bed equipped room for overnight guests. My sometimes-bedroom is a room with a view. Discovered in one of my closets is the architectural plan from which my present owners found my builders’ names. Looking further they found that my original owners lived here for fifty years, then passed away within a few days of each other. They were special people whom I am honored to remember.”

Memories of Nepal

  Memories of Nepal At the monkey temple, one tried to steal a lady’s purse, but she battled back. On the bus safari, a mother rhino and her big baby approached us within a few feet, but ignored us and continued grazing. We saw other rhinos in the lowland valley of southern Nepal. On our dugout canoe trip, we passed a number of crocodiles along the riverbank. The guide assured us - somewhat - that they had already eaten. Peacocks and monkeys were seen along the shore. At the Chitwan National Park elephant rearing station, we saw mother elephants and their offspring. The bulls roam the wilds of the Park. and are brought in annually to mate. One baby elephant approached us at the fence. We gave the baby a drink of water. We passed a large cargo hauler - an elephant - on the narrow dirt road.
