Daisy
Daisy
Per Wordsmith.org, “from Old English, daeges eage, day’s eye.”
The daisy closes her eye at night.
Is she fretful like a child who disappears the frightful night?
Is she a flirtatious flower whose long wink is a come hither?
Or just fatigued from shining with flourish all day?
For sure, every morning her eye opens with the sun,
Her awakened eye pleasing to everyone.
